1988. This is a book in Near Fine condition with a Very Good Dust-Jacket.  The book contains the following inscription on the title page:  “For Simon Heathcote, With Best Wishes, 25 May ‘88” and is SIGNED by the author.  The recipient has also signed the book on the front fep.  The pages are bright and tightly bound.  The unclipped Dust-Jacket is showing signs of shelf wear, including a closed tear to the back and rubbing to all extremities and some foxing to the edges of the flaps.  The Dust-Jacket is now protected with a removable clear plastic mylar cover to prevent any further damage.  This is the 2nd edition of this book but is the only copy I have found that bears the author’s signature.

Macmillan

1994. This is a book in Near Fine+ condition with a Very Good+ Dust-Jacket.  There are no marks or inscriptions, other than that by the subject of this biography including Dame Elisabeth’s SIGNATURE.  The pages are bright and tightly bound.  The Dist-Jacket is showing a few signs of shelf wear, mainly bumping and a slightly loose fit.  The inscription opposite the main title page and underneath a photograph of Dame Elisabeth reads: “For Joanna Allen, with best wishes, from Elisabeth Murdoch, November 1994”.  The book is a fascinating tale of the life of Dame Elisabeth, widow of Sir Keith Murdoch and mother to Rupert Murdoch.  This is the only signed copy of this book currently listed on the internet.  There are 78 illustrations, mainly black & white, although some colour, photographs.  This really is an excellent and unique book!

1945. This is a book in Very Good condition.  There is a neat previous owners name written at the top of the front fep and the book is SIGNED on the first title page by the author.  The pages remain bright and tightly bound, other than a split which has developed between pages 16 & 17.  The illustrated outer cover cannot be removed as it is attached along the spine and is split along the flaps.  The spine is also showing signs of damage and wear.  Published in Australia in 1945 this would have been produced to war standards.  This is the 2nd edition of this book but is the only copy I have found that bears the author’s signature.

1952.  Very Good condition book in a Good+ DJ. There are no makes or inscriptions.  The pages are bright and remain tightly bound.  There is some fading to the edges of the front and rear feps.  The boards have warped.  The DJ has faded and has a number of closed tears.  There is a dedication plate stuck to the front fep to “Captain Bernard C Frost” SIGNED by the Lord Mayor (Ernest Charles O’Dea), dated April 1952.  The plate marks the 7th Conference of the International Federation of Air Line Pilots Association.  A really interesting book depicting Sydney, Australia in the early 1950s in many stunning black & white photographs.  Approx. 12” x 12”. 1st Edition.
